Last midnight, June 7, The Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Military Forces made another official statement, which is posted on the official web site of the General Staff in Turkish. This one focuses on the Kurdish issue, on the grounds of separatist terrorist acts.

By this ultimatum the military is :

a) pressuring the government to grant permission for a military intervention in Northern Iraq (and the real intention is to assault the Kurdish government there and possibly to go all the way down to Musul/Kerkuk)

b) calling the “Turkish nation” to mass reactions against terror [by PKK], which ultimately means against Kurdish movement at large - and you may read here Kurds, pro-democratic & pro-peace people and groups who support a peaceful, political resolution to the Kurdish problem.

c) trying a last resort to put the country in a state of emergency (and war) to stop the upcoming elections.

We request that you lobby/pressure your governments to try to stop the Turkish army through international community and all its relevant organizations binding Turkey, and to support the Parliament, the Government in Turkey.
